The Impact of Patriarchy on Cultural and Social Norms
UN Women, officially known as the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women, was established in 2010 to accelerate progress towards meeting the needs of women and girls around the world.
This entity is at the forefront of promoting gender equality, combating discrimination, and addressing critical issues such as gender- based violence, economic empowerment, political participation, and access to education. UN Women works globally to empower women and girls, ensures their voices are heard in decision-making processes, and advocates for policies that promote equality. The UN Women’s Unit leads initiatives that bring together governments, civil society and individuals to create a world where women have equal opportunities to thrive and contribute to society.
