Combating Terrorism and Islamist Radicalism in the Middle East
The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) is one of the most critical committees in Model United Nations (MUN) practices. Like the real-life UN Security Council, the MUN UNSC is tasked with ensuring international peace and security.
It consists of 15 members; 5 of them are permanent (USA, Russia, China, United Kingdom, France) and 10 are temporary members. Its permanent members have veto power over its decisions. At MUN UNSC, delegates discuss serious security threats and crises around the world and present solutions and decision plans. The purpose is to produce advanced and feasible solutions for maintaining international peace through negotiations.
